Some Obstacles to Womens Empowerment

The term 'empowerment' permits us to consider diverse facets of life. It raises women's standing in society. After accepting the idea of empowerment, it should be brought into operation, and it is to be saved and followed to get its significant benefits. Girls are sufferers in society as they're suppressed and oppressed. This is often reduced or eased, leading to a change in perspective towards women.

They're confident, able and capable of making their own choices. So , the empowerment of girls is very effective, leading to a change and improved situation in homes and thus in society. Though it would seem to be straightforward and successful, there are a bunch of stumbling blocks and limitations which do not allow girls to be independent and self-sufficient so simply. Barriers to Enabling Girls

1) Girls need to be conditional upon men:-

They must look after household tasks. They're confined within 4 walls, and their movements are prohibited. They are deprived of liberty to make their own choices or as per their wish. They're fully 'helpless' though they may not love to be, the society has made them to become helpless.

2) Sex discrimination:-

As a female, she's hated in the family. Often , boys get preference over their sisters. The Male kid is believed to be the family torch bearer. Girls, on the other hand, are regarded as a burden. They're cancelled in the mother's womb, as the arrival of a girl is proclaimed as a bad omen. She's poorly nourished, as she and her mum need to be happy with the proscribed leftover food from the men / boys. This has effects on her health and causes starvation and other illnesses.

3) Early wedding:-

Pregnancy and other family duties cause her health to further grow worse. No correct education causes her not to grasp the diseases.All such discrimination has continued in society for some years. Early wedding. She is married when she reaches adolesence. As a female kid, she receives secondary treatment at home. Due to misery, undernourishment and neglect in her very own home, now she is facing all of the responsibilities of the house. The household jobs start from early morning and they include looking after the animals, cooking food, preparing to go to the field for daily salary work. This is followed by evening cooking and household jobs, she's completely exhausted.

4) Violence:-

Men demand the cash earned by the lady for spending on alcohol. Most girls get a thrashing and must face violence each day. Additionally , ladies are thought to be an object of pleasure and cohabitation. This causes no contentmentin the house. Only struggle and further struggle.

5) Damaging conventions:-

Girls have to follow customs, and though she doesn't like it, she's under an obligation to continue. This is joined with the total trust and traditions.Girls are meant to be more active than men in these activities. They don't seem to be at all free and so aren't empowered.
